Let's shake this sh*t up!
We don't mynd coming first!
It’s time to change the way we think about mental health. When it comes to our physical health, we know we need to exercise regularly to build our fitness. We’ve created spaces where we can do that together. We’ve understood the power of having a dedicated place, with group classes that keep us accountable to showing up, led by instructors who guide us through what we need to do, and most importantly, we’ve understood the positive energy, motivation and feeling of connection that comes from being in community with others. Yet until now, we haven’t had spaces like this for our mental health.
It’s not you, it’s this…
We know that the number one thing for mental and emotional wellbeing is connection and community, but for some reason, mental health has been something we either don’t talk about or something we think we have to work on alone. As if it’s up to us to figure out what’s ‘wrong’ with us, or how we can ‘fix’ ourselves. The truth is, there’s nothing wrong with any of us. We’re all doing the best that we can and we all deserve to have help and support to feel well and thrive. Human beings are a social species. We’re not supposed to do this stuff an our own.
A lot of the time we know what we need to do to feel better, but for so many reasons we don’t take action and then we feel guilty or criticise ourselves that we ‘should have known better’ or had more self-discipline. The truth is, most of us need support, accountability and other people to show up to - it helps remind us that we’re not alone and everyone is just trying to figure their sh*t out
Hello, Captain Obvious.
We don’t need to bore you with the statistics about the growing mental health epidemic. We know that most of us will experience mental health challenges at some stage in our life and all of us, no matter who we are, will go through difficult emotions, stress, grief and loss. But this isn’t just about dealing with tough times. When we’re feeling good and doing well, we want to be able to enhance that positivity, keep our focus and motivation, understand what’s working and live with even more connection and joy. Mental fitness is about strengthening our mynds to adapt to whatever we’re experiencing in healthy ways, whether it’s good times or bad or anything in between. There isn’t a person on the planet who wouldn’t benefit from exercising their mental fitness.
This is why we created MyndGym. Because here’s the thing. We know that if you put a little bit of effort into looking after your mental and emotional fitness each day, so many aspects of your life would improve.
